Job Description

Main Purpose: To take responsibility for the project accounting and administration at the construction site in accordance with the project and company requirements.

 

Key Performance Areas:

  • Manage contracts to ensure compliance with contract terms and mitigating risks.
  • Prepare tender estimates, budgets and cash flows.
  • Do cost control and reporting during pre-contract period.  
  • Draft and prepare Bills of Quantities, review enquiry documents and manage commercial contract evaluation and negotiation of the terms and conditions.
  • Plan and organise all commercial management processes and contractual deadlines, budget and resources for a project.
  • Manage contract entitlements, variations, payments, claims management and dispute resolution including cost control, reporting and budgeting for main and subcontracts from inception to completion of a project.
  • Conduct QS meetings with other departments, sub-contractors and client.
  • Manage and assist direct reports.
  • Any other job related duties as required from time to time.
  • Candidates must be willing to travel, flexible and be able to relocate.

Preferred Requirements:

  • B.Sc. QS, B.Sc. QS (Hons) or B.Tech. QS degree.
  • Professional registration with SACQSP or RICS would be advantageous.
  • Management and leadership qualification would be advantageous.
  • 5 Years’ Quantity Surveying experience preferably in the mechanical field.
  • Knowledge of engineering contracts (NEC and FIDIC).
  • Ability to read and understand project schedules.
  • Knowledge of estimating.
  • Computer literate (MS Office).
